25 Days of Christmas – Day 13 Pearl
Day 13 of 25 days of Christmas with Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics is here! I cannot believe this series is more than halfway over now. We’ll blink and Christmas will be upon us.
For today I’m so excited to show you this country Christmas inspired Pearl. We went on a roadtrip last weekend to visit my dad in southeast Oklahoma. Fun fact about me: I’m obsessed with cows. So I had to get out in the pasture with his longhorns. They were so gentle and Chacely did not seem to be scared of them at all. She loved throwing the corn feed from the trough and trying to feed her buddy Moonshine.
I chose a deep green from AGF’s Pure Solids line for the base of my Pearl Dress. I added a ruffle and poinsettia jacquard trim to the hem of the skirt. I never keep elastic thread on hand so, I typically add a 1/2″ casing to the sleeve and thread 1/8″ elastic through to make the Pearl sleeves. I also love the contrast it adds to the sleeves. It’s a great way to incorporate coordinating fabrics.
If the zipper has been keeping you from making Pearl, I urge you to give it a try. The instructions make inserting the zipper a breeze and the result is truly stunning. This was my third time adding a zipper to clothing. I was able to sew it in once without any mistakes! That’s how great the instructions are!
Whether she was playing with cattle or meeting Santa, Pearl was a must have pattern for her Christmas attire!

Freebie
Any Rae Dunn lovers in here? I ran across this freebie a few weeks ago and cannot wait to get my tree up this weekend and fill it with these ornaments. I had most of the needed materials on hand and just had to purchase the glass ball ornaments. Snag the free SVG cut files from here and follow along the tutorial to create farmhouse inspired Christmas decor that would even leave Joanna Gaines feeling envious.
Recipe
You may have noticed a “southern” theme to today’s post. Well, this is one of my favorite southern treats. Mississippi Mud Cake is ooey-gooey, chocolaty heaven. I only make this once a year because it is so indulgent but I crave it year round. I hope you’ll love it as much as my family does.
