25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 8 Evelyn

On the eighth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a pink Evelyn that is so pretty!

I am seriously FA-LA-LA-lling in LOVE with Evelyn. I just adore that sweet collar, puffed sleeves with cuff, the flared princess seam silhouette with side tabs, and that teardrop back cutout. There are so many details to Evelyn that make it an absolute must have. I was inspired to add red piping to the collar, princess seams, and side tabs to really make the details pop. One of my favorite things about Simple Life Patterns are all the jaw-dropping back cutouts their patterns have. Evelyn definitely has me swooning. With so many options, Evelyn is sure to be a staple in your sewing room.

The Art Gallery Fabric I chose reminds me so much of my Nana. She always puts up a Christmas tree with pink decor and it is genuinely my favorite. Nana has also always had pink poinsettias around at Christmastime too. The minute I saw this fabric I knew I needed it. The bright pink background with scattered poinsettias in various shades has me dreaming of a pink Christmas. I added the fun Fa-La-La coordinate for a whimsical touch.

To Achieve This Look

A Holiday Craft

I found the perfect freebie to match today’s pink poinsettia Evelyn: paper poinsettias! I’ve used my Cricut in the past to make paper flowers for decor at the holidays but this tutorial uses Crepe paper. I think these would look amazing as a centerpiece with gold accents. The texture and colors on these flowers look so realistic!

A Holiday Treat

If you guessed a poinsettia treat, you are correct! I really enjoy decorating cookies and cakes and learning new techniques. This poinsettia cupcake has instructions on how to make a vanilla cupcake with American buttercream and piped poinsettia decor. If I can find some extra time in my schedule I may try making a pink version of these with my girls.
