Adelyn Sewalong: Day 1
Welcome to our Adelyn Sewalong! This week, we will be sewing the Simple Life Pattern Company’s newest pattern: Adelyn’s Scoop Back Top and Dress. Each day, a new blog post will detail a few steps from the pattern. By the end of the week, you will have a gorgeous new top or dress! Here is a breakdown of what we will do today as Day 1 of our Adelyn Sewalong:
Your first step (and possibly hardest step!) is to select your fabrics. Adelyn requires knit fabric for the bodice and either knit or woven fabric for the skirt. Mo’s Unders require knit fabric and are a wonderful scrap buster! There is great information in the Adelyn pattern about types of knit and the amount of stretch you want in your knit fabric. Go ahead and wash/dry your fabrics if you have not previously done so.
Next, print your pattern pieces for Adelyn and Mo’s, tape them together and cut them out.
You can now cut out your fabrics!
