Back to School Looks The Simple Life Pattern Company

Back to School with SLPco

I know we just wrapped up our own Back to School Blog Tour, but we couldn’t resist participating in the Back to School Blog Tour organized by  Lulu and Celeste and Sprouting Jube Jube

While we might still have some warm days ahead, where I live, it will soon cool off. Even though my little family homeschools and we spend the majority of our day in our home classroom, I still like my girls to be dressed for the day. I find it helps them focus and perform better with their school work. I also like that they are always prepared for us to rush to piano lessons, play dates, and extra curriculars.
SLPco patterns are known for their eye-catching details with gorgeous back options, but our patterns also include options that are suitable for any school dress code.

For the blog tour I decided to sew up a soft knit dress and leggings featuring gorgeous Art Gallery Fabric and the SLPco  Adelyn Dress and Sarah Ann Leggings patterns. We went to our favorite playground which overlooks a dam to take these pictures.

I sewed a size 10 width, 12 length for my oldest daughter. I wanted her to have plenty of length so this dress would last her all year. As the dress gets shorter as she grows, the Sarah Ann’s leggings provide the coverage she needs to run around the playground! This is the first Adelyn I’ve made with the adorable bow feature! I used the modest back option, and adding the bow provides a cute detail and additional coverage.

If you’ve read my other posts here at Simple Life Pattern Co. you know that I have two more little girls. Since I want my dresses to be handed down to little sisters, I choose high quality cotton spandex knit from Art Gallery Fabrics since I know they will survive several trips through the washing machine and not shrink after I prewash them!

My oldest daughter is pleased as punch with her new outfit! And guess what – this is just the first look of many that I will share you as I build her capsule wardrobe this school year!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting us on the tour today! Make sure you check out the other tour participants and enter the giveaways.
