Blue Carolina Fabrics by The Tattooed Quilter

A few months ago I was on a sewing blog tour for Cricut. During that blog tour I got to “meet” so many awesome sewers, including Christopher. I went to Salt Lake City for the big  Cricut event and while I was there I got to meet (in real life!)  the super talented Christopher Thompson of The Tattooed Quilter. He makes so many cute things and I am really excited for a mini quilt he made and  I won at a Riley Blake auction for Hurricane Harvey. Here we are in Salt Lake City.

I was really excited when Chris asked if I would be on his blue shirt blog tour for his newest collection for Riley Blake Fabrics: Blue Carolina. This collection is gorgeous, full of blues, whites and splashes of pink in a few prints. I knew I wanted to make the Ayda Peplum top for this tour. Not only is a super fast sew (this only took me 20 minutes to sew up) it is just so adorable on. I used the “Carolina Main in Navy”. There is also a print similar to this, Carolina cluster,  in a smaller scale that would be really cute for sister dresses.

I just LOVE that V back! I also modified the sleeves just a bit to give them more of a cap sleeve look and it turned out great.

At the beginning of the photoshoot, my daughter Emma was being a little stinker. I took her away from the playstation game and she was not thrilled. The first 15 minutes of photos, she have me the stink eye….. I always save a few photos like this (or funny outtakes) just to be able to show her when she gets older.

Be sure to check out all the other lovely ladies on this tour – they have made some awesome tops!
