Fall Sewing Series: Dresses

Hello!

Welcome to day 4 of our Fall Sewing Series. Today I will be discussing my favorite dress patterns for fall! I love all seasons, but if I’m being honest, my favorite season for fashion is definitely fall. I adore a high low dress paired with tights or knee highs in rich fall colors. *Sigh* so dreamy!

I have so many SLPco patterns that I consider my “go-to” fall dresses that I can’t possibly showcase them all for you today. I’ve narrowed it down to some of my favorites below. I hope you find some inspiration to begin your fall sewing!

Baby Pearl featuring Art Gallery Fabrics – Le Vintage Chic (Girls Pearl can be found here)

Pearl is the perfect dress for fall and can easily transition to the holidays as well. I just adore those sweet little puff sleeves and the gem neckline. This pattern features a zipper, but have no fear, we have a tutorial for adding a zipper to a lined bodice here!

Helena featuring Art Gallery Fabrics – Little Town

Helena features a full button placket on the back of the dress. Large buttons just scream fall to me so I absolutely adore this pattern in the cooler months.

Baby Aria featuring Art Gallery Fabrics – Bachelorette Fusions and Riley Blake – Yes Please (Girls Aria can be found here)

Aria is one of those patterns that I just can’t stop sewing. But how can you with such an adorable bow back? I love that Aria features a modesty panel as well as the open back version. This allows me to make the dress a little bit warmer by using the modesty panel starting in fall when the air gets crisp.

Knit Baby Ayda featuring Hawthorne Threads – Shop Cabin  (Knit Girls Ayda can be found here)

Knit Ayda is such a quick sew and is so incredibly beautiful that people will think you spent hours on the dress. The best part about knit Ayda is the fact that my girls love wearing it because it is knit. There’s something about a soft stretchy fabric that the kids love.

Isla (left) and Molly (right) featuring Art Gallery Fabrics – Bountiful

Molly is probably my favorite pattern right now. I adore the deep scoop back and the dainty sweet collar. And the best part? You can purchase the sleeve add-on so that your Molly can have sleeves! This was HUGE for me due to our months of cold weather up here in Upstate New York.

Isla with an adorable sleeve hack (coming next week to the blog) and a high low circle skirt hack, featuring Hawthorne Threads – Shop Cabin

As you can see from the previous photo and this photo, there are so many looks that you can get from the Isla pattern. I would consider Isla to be THE staple knit dress. It is the pattern that everyone needs in their collection.

Last, and surely not least, we’ve come to Willow. To me, fall needs boho dresses, and Willow is that. With the unique and trendy “V” waistline, high-low-high hem option, and ruffled sleeves I just cannot adore Willow more.
