Who has been enjoying the biggest sale of the year? I have been working hard, getting new spring and summer patterns to you. I always look forward to the monthly challenge. Its so much fun to see everyones creations. So with that, lets jump into February’s challenge…
For the month of February, our challenge theme is “Sew Sweet”.
The Monthly Challenge
All month long we are featuring a select few patterns from our collection, which will be on sale for 50% off through the months end (normally, they would be 30% off but since we are celebrating SLPco’s 6th anniversary, they will all be 50%). If you decide to sew along with us, you can sew up one of the featured patterns and post a modeled or flat lay/mannequin photo in our fan group (or on instagram) with the hashtag #SLPcoChallenge for your chance to WIN a $20 credit!

The Patterns
Maggie Suspender shorts AND Sugar Pop Top
Maggie’s High Waisted Shorts offer a flat front, high waisted suspender shorts look perfect for girls of all ages that can be worn year round. Styled with tights or knee-high socks, Maggie will be your favorite fall look for your little. Maggie has 3 waistband options, high rise, mid-rise, and low rise and can be wide leg, bubble shorts with cuffs or bubble with an elastic hem. The optional suspenders are buttoned in, making them fully removable. Maggie’s High Waisted Shorts have adorable side slant pockets with an optional pocket tab.
The Sugar Pop Top was designed for the everyday kid who is looking to up her wardrobe of jeans and t-shirts. This top is constructed simply, but is sophisticated nonetheless. The Peter Pan collar, flutter or cap sleeves, and oh-so-subtle hi-lo hem create a unique and beautiful top to be made and worn time and time again.
Shelby’s Strappy Back Top & Dress
Are you looking for that perfect spring and summer dress? We have you covered with the Shelby. This pattern features “built in” cap sleeves so you don’t have to even sew on sleeves but still get the shoulder coverage. Choose from a scoop or square neckline. The best part about Shelby is the gorgeous back options. With a deeper square back, you can add a single strap, double straps or even a criss cross strap, creating so many beautiful and unique looks. The adorable square side pockets echo the square back beautifully and is a great option to showcase an accent fabric. We have included a simple rectangle gathered skirt in top or dress length. We didn’t stop there. You can also choose the circle skirt in top or dress length for the ultimate twirl factor.

Eden’s High Low 3/4 Circle Top & Dress
Eden’s high low 3/4 circle peplum top and dress is the sweetest babydoll top/dress. It features a very short high low bodice with an overlap to place some of your favorite little buttons or snaps. This is a relaxed fit dress with plenty of ease for playing and getting on and off. There is not placket in the skirt because there is enough ease in the bodice to slide on and off with their arms straight up in the air. We also included a 3/4 circle skirt in top and dress lengths, which still provides a lot of twirl similar to a full circle skirt, just a little less full. You can also choose a gathered top or dress option. Choose flutters or even double flutters for a super sweet vintage feel. You can also choose from short sleeve, 3/4 or long sleeves.Back is a scoop back. This is a perfect year round pattern.
Trixie is a sporty dress with a beautiful A line drape. Featuring a henley placket and collar, 2 lengths: swing top and dress, and optional inseam pockets. The pattern includes 4 sleeve lengths: sleeveless (which is finished with arm bands) short sleeve, elbow sleeve or long sleeve. Trixie is full of twirl and perfect for any occasion whether it’s back to school, golf lessons or playing at the playground.
Athena Pocket Sports Bra & Energize Pocket Shorts, Capris & Leggings
Create the perfect custom sports bra using the Athena pattern. This beginner friendly and fast sewing pattern has two lengths. Sports bra length featuring a 1” elastic band. You can also choose to use the crop top band for a longer bra that is still supportive. Choose from two scoop necklines. You can also color block the back, using up all those precious scraps of fabric. You can also choose to add the very functional back pocket that is located at the center back of the sports bra. This pocket is perfect for your cell phone. The pocket is located high enough so you can easily reach back to place or grab your phone. You can use fun knit fabrics for the back pocket as well such as mesh or laser cut performance fabrics. The pattern also shows you how to create a slip in the seam to insert bra pads/ cups.
These perfect leggings are all you will ever want to wear! Energize features a simple version or a side pocket / panel version. With 7 different lengths ranging from shorts, 22”, 24”, 26”, 28”, 30” & 32” inseams, you can find your perfect capri, 7/8, ankle or leggings length. The side pocket is perfect for holding your phone, chapstick or any essentials you want to have on you. You can also add an optional gusset to the crotch for ultimate movement. This pattern is also great for color blocking, with or without the side pockets. Energize also features a comfortable contoured waistband for the perfect fit. You can choose from a high rise (natural waist) or mid rise (just below the belly button) for the perfect leggings.
Kinley’s Cascading Top & Dress
Kinley’s Cascading Flounce Dress and Top, designed for wovens, features a beautiful neckline, optional bow and sash (full faux sewn on sash and a button back sash to cinch the waist in for a fitted look), a cascading flounce skirt and lots and lots of twirl! There are no closures on this pattern, it slides on over the child’s head. The skirt has four options including circle and gathered skirts for both the flounce and simple versions. You can also make simple versions with no front flounce.
