Today’s steps are simple and you may wish to skip ahead, which is totally fine! But if you do, remember to take pictures of each step along the way so you can enter over in the Facebook group for the Hawthorne Threads credit! Only those who take part in each day of the SAL will get an entry to win!
Measuring
Always, always make sure to measure your child before each project. Honestly. I know that seems like a lot, but kids grow SO fast, ESPECIALLY if you have a tiny one like I do. So, be sure to get proper measurements and choose the size that you will be sewing. And if your babe is between sizes, go ahead and grade! If you need help grading feel free to comment over in the Facebook group for some help!
Choosing Your Options
You have a few different options that you can choose from with the Knit Ayda pattern. There is only one back option, which is the standout feature of this pattern! You can choose sleeve length, top or dress length, and gathered or circle skirt.
Print, Assemble, and Cut Pattern Pieces
Print your pattern pieces using Adobe Reader at “Actual Size”. Knit Ayda features layers so you can print only the size(s) that you need which makes it super convenient and easy to follow! If you chose the gathered skirt option you will not have pattern pieces but there is a cut chart included on the bodice piece with the measurements needed!
Choose Fabrics
My favorite part!! Picking your fabrics! Hawthorne Supply Co generously sponsored this SAL and sent me these gorgeous jersey knit fabrics that they print in house! Shipping was so quick and I was so pleasantly surprised at just how soft this fabric is! (Even my husband liked it, y’all)
