Lorelei’s Flutter Swimsuit Hack
Hey y’all! You guys I can’t even!!!!! My heart is so happy right now, seeing this gorgeous hack.
During testing of the Lorelei’s Flutter Side Cut out Swimsuit, one of our amazingly talented testers, Rebecca, added the flutter to the neckline. Her interpretation of the pattern is so on point and trendy. I am so in love! I asked her if I could share how she accomplished this look and she graciously said yes.

Swim Elastic
Contrasting swim fabric for your flutter
Start by following the tutorial to make your suit. Cut a strip of fabric for the neck binding 1.75″ wide by the length of the neckline elastic (found in the pattern’s tutorial). She then cut the ruffle piece 2″ x 1.5 times the neckline.
Next, attach the short ends of the flutter to make a circle. Gather your flutter so it is the same width as your neckline and pin. Using a large zigzag stitch, baste your flutter to the neckline, right sides facing up.
Attach the short ends of neck binding to make a circle. Using a large zigzag stitch, and baste the binding to the neckline, right sides together.
Overlap the ends of your elastic by 1/2″ and sew, making a circle. Slightly stretching your elastic, baste the elastic to the neck binding.
Fold the binding over 1/4″. Bring the binding over elastic to the inside of your suit and sew around binding.
Well, there you have it. It is a simple hack but such a gorgeous outcome. Thank you Rebecca for allowing me to share!!
If you have a hack or a great idea for a hack or our patterns, we’d love it to see them!!
Happy Sewing!
