Make a Christmas table runner with Cricut Explore Air 2 + Giveaway

 

Hey everyone! I don’t know about you, but lately I have been so excited for Christmas. This year I decided I wanted to make a few fun projects for our house. I don’t have many Christmas decorations, but now that the kids are getting older, I am wanting our house to be super festive for the holidays. I have started many projects already – but the hubs said I cant hang any of it up until December 1st!!! (yeah right!) It’s funny though, I have bought a few things already and have been randomly placing them around the house and he hasn’t noticed yet – hehe. When I found out about the Christmas holiday blog tour for Cricut, I jumped on this opportunity! I am super excited to share my fun and super easy table runner with you. The best part, these are all images in Design Space, and if you have Cricut Access, this wouldn’t cost anything. If you dont have Cricut Access, this project will cost a little under $7. I find that access is worth every penny. I do multiple projects each month and love the large selection of access images. So for less than $10 month, it is worth it for me to have access. Lets get started with our table runner. To make it easier for you, I have a link to the CHRISTMAS TABLE RUNNER project that I created. For this project, I am using my Cricut Explore Air 2. If you have a Cricut Maker, you can use that as well, but since the ornaments need to have fusible on them, I chose to use the Explore Air 2.

We are going to use my FAVORITE feature that Cricut offers within design space that most people forget about! SnapMat!!! I love using this to fussy cut perfect applique’s, pieces for quilt blocks, and my favorite projects for this feature, English paper piecing. Below are 2 videos, a full length video for assembling your table runner and a quick video just on the SnapMat feature.

What you will need:

12″ x 24″ background fabric (I used white)

14″ x 26″ batting

16″ x 28″ backing fabric

1 Fat Quarter for binding

6 scrap pieces of fabric for the ornaments (about 6″ square)

Heat and bond lite

rick rack – 1 package

Silver glitter iron on

Red foil iron on

Cricut Explore Air 2 (or any other Cricut machine)

12″ x 24″ “green” mat or fabric mat

Cricut water washable marker

Cricut EasyPress or iron

Smart phone or Ipad to use the snap mat option for fussy cutting
