Hip Hip Hooray, You’re Three

Somehow another year has flown by and my baby girl has turned THREE!

I wanted to sew something fun and playful for her special day and kept being drawn to Mia. I hadn’t sewn Mia yet but was obsessed with the back of the bodice. When I received these gorgeous “Hip Hip Hooray” fabrics by Maude Asbury for Blend Fabrics I knew Mia was the one to showcase their beauty. With bright, bold colors and fun cake and confetti prints they made for the PERFECT birthday outfit.

I fussy cut the front of the bodice to include a cake with THREE candles on top for my birthday girl. I also used hot pink thread for all of my topstitching to add contrast and bring out the hot pink colors in the fabrics.

I used the romper add on because is there anything sweeter than a baby girl in a romper and knee highs? Those chubby little knees get me every time.

To give my babydoll some poof I added a gathered circle skirt to the romper bottom. I used the Norah pattern for this. Chacely is very slim but tall. She’s wearing a size 9/12m Mia bodice and romper add-on bottom with the size 2T Norah skirt. The extra width of the skirt pattern made for extra poof and the perfect twirl factor.

And there you have it. The sweetest little skirted romper for a birthday adventure at the local graffiti alley.
