Weekend Style
I am excited to share with you a few creations I made using Caroline Hulse’s new book: Weekend Style. I immediately thumbed through the whole thing and wrote down a BIG list of what I wanted to make but inevitably, I had to narrow it down to just a few. We go camping a lot during the summers here so I really wanted a comfy outfit to walk, ride bikes and lounge in. I have been looking for a relaxed fit tee and when I saw the Tilly Tee – I knew for sure that was at the top of my list. I decided to make the Boardwalk shorts to go with the tee, but I wanted to make a few modifications.
Here is the Tilly Tee – I didn’t modify or blend for this. I just made a straight large and I love how comfortable it is. For the Boardwalk shorts, I wanted to make them in knit, and I didn’t want a paper bag style waistband. I wanted to do a yoga style waistband, so I just took the knit waistband and wrapped it around my waist until it was a little snug and it worked great! Now I have some really comfy shorts with pockets (we all need pockets right!)
I am excited for my next “me” sewing day, I saw the bag that Eleri Kerian made and it is divine! (you will get to see hers next week). PS – Thanks Eleri for taking time from your busy schedule to photograph these for me! You are the best!
Happy Sewing,
Katie
