Real Hope for Haiti FCCLA project results

I am so thrilled about today’s blog post! I am sharing the results of our Real Hope for Haiti project that we started in January. If you havent heard about it, you can check out our first blog post. Sierra & Ally really did an awesome job and we were all blown away by the results! For all those that took the time to donate dresses, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! You all are so amazing!

Since the last post, Sierra & Ally went on to the district competition and advanced to state! They don’t compete for state until next week – so lets keep sending these girls good vibes! I am confident they will make it to nationals. This project was called a Hundred for Haiti but now, with the amazing support from our sewing community, they can now call it Hundred for Haiti x 10. hehe.

Okay – lets go ahead and get down to the numbers. The school has received 1003 dress – plus the 4 I made (oops – I keep forgetting to bring them in!!!). I cant believe it! over a thousand dresses sent in for this project! The best part, word got around about what Sierra and Ally were doing and the response they had with the donations, a representative from the Real Hope for Haiti organization is coming to the school from Minnesota to collect all the dresses and speak! I will be doing a Facebook live when she comes to the school where you can learn more about their organization and see the girls do their presentation for the high school.

I want to give a special shout out to some very special people that donated SO many dresses:

How amazing are these ladies! We cant believe the response we had with this project. I plan on doing one more blog post about this Real Hope for Haiti project – hopefully I will be telling you the girls won nationals 🙂  We have a photoshoot scheduled with the girls, Mrs. Fingarson and all the dresses – I cant wait to do that!

The first set of dresses the girls had sewn already made it to Haiti and they just got some pictures back of a few girls wearing their new dresses. You can just see their joy! Melts my heart.

Thanks for reading!
