25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 11 Brenda

On the eleventh day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a Brenda that is perfect for Christmas in the country!

Not even going to lie, it wasn’t until I started sewing Brenda that I realized it is a woven version of Aria. WHAT?! Now I’m going to be making this ALL. THE. TIME. Wovens are my jam (and bows) so Brenda will be in constant rotation in my sewing room. Since this dress just slips on, it sews up really quickly. If you hate working with plackets, this pattern is for you!

I don’t know if “farmhouse” style is still a thing, but I’m still in love with it. Maybe because I grew up in the country so the nostalgia is strong. When I saw this ticking fabric I instantly knew I needed it for a farmhouse Christmas look. The Juniper collection from AGF is full of gorgeous prints in piney greens and warm ginger tones making it a perfect choice for Christmas.

I just wish we lived closer to my hometown so I could have taken photos of Ainsley in front of my Papa’s old red barn. I’m planning on packing this dress when we go visit for the holidays so I can get the barn photos I’m dreaming of. For now this beautiful old wooden fence from my friend’s property will suffice.

To Achieve This Look

  • Art Gallery Fabrics used are Herbage Viridian and Timeless Ticking Ginger from the Juniper collection by Sharon Holland.
  • Socks are from Little Stocking Company.
  • Bow is from Clairebow Baby.
  • Brenda pattern

A Holiday Craft

Today I have a fun game you can play with your kiddos…Reindeer Races! With a few craft supplies and balloons you can make some little balloon reindeer to race. I don’t know about your kids, but my kiddos giggle like crazy when we let a balloon loose and it squeals. I know this game is going to be a blast and I can’t wait for all the little giggles to fill our home.

A Holiday Treat

My oldest daughter has a little stuffed hedgehog toy named Bumper that goes EVERYWHERE with us. We usually make peanut butter balls at Christmastime but I’m excited to make these hedgehog looking ones to suprise my daughter with. I can just hear her squealing “Bumper” when she sees them.
