The dress/top is very cute and simple. I like the options available. I made the flutter sleeve and gathered skirt with a 100% cotton fabric.
However, the instructions are definitely lacking. There are no color photos or pictures, only a few very basic drawings. I think a beginner would get lost on this pattern, not because it’s a hard sew, but because of the instructions. This pattern is definitely much different than the regular Simple Life patterns (which have great pictures and instructions and are easy to follow).
I’m petite, 5’2” and I had to alter the the bodice by shortening the shoulders (after I had constructed it, which was a pain) because my bra strap showed. I wish there were some additional (advanced) options for a zipper and/or a more modest back.
