25 Days of Christmas – Day 12 Jaimesyn

On the twelfth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a Jaimesyn with hand embroidery.

For this Jaimesyn I added a cream colored crochet lace from the Hobby Lobby trims. I sewed the trim onto both the large and small flutter. I also used the trim along the seam on the front bodice where the flutters are attached. Dainty cotton stem embroidery embellishes the front bodice center.

For the skirt I sewed the triple pintucks and added the crochet lace trim within each pintuck for more texture. I cut the v-back and added a single heart-shaped wooden button for the closure.

I just adore how this dress turned out. It was perfect for our family photos this year. The candied cherry color of the fabric brings so much richness to the photos.

To achieve this look

AGF fabric is Pure Solids Candied Cherry.

Floral headband is from Clairebow Baby.

Socks are from Little Stocking Company.

Boots are from Target.

Freebies

I have two freebies for you today! The first one is for the cotton embroidery featured on the Jaimesyn dress I made. End of November or early December in Kansas means cotton harvesting. If the snow has not already begun to fall, the fluffy white crop makes the landscape look snow covered. I wanted to pay homage to this crop because without it we would not have all these beautiful fabrics to sew!

The second freebie smells divine. While you are doing all your Christmas sewing just throw this holiday potpourri on to keep your house smelling amazing. You can even use dried ingredients to package and hand out as gifts!

Recipe

I LOVE cranberries. That tart flavor calls to me. So around the holidays I  tend to bake a lot with cranberries. If cranberries aren’t your thing, you can try substituting with cherries.

Today’s recipe is sure to be the talk of your holiday table. Sweet and fluffy pavlova mingles with tart cranberries for a Christmas treat that will have your guests coming back for seconds. You can make the pavlova the night before and assemble just before serving.
