25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 5 Betty

On the fifth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a beautiful peppermint swirl Betty.

I absolutely adore the classic style of Betty. If you have a little girl that loves ruffles and ALL THE TWIRL factor, then she needs a closet full of Bettys. The Betty I made has the flounced bodice with 3/4 sleeves, side ties, pockets, and circle skirt with ruffles. I did a rolled hem with contrasting red thread for the flounces and skirt ruffle to give them extra detail. If you can’t tell from the cover photo, my daughter Ainsley absolutely loved this dress and getting to play “cookie shop” in it. She has already requested to wear it to school too, which is a huge Momma win!

The Art Gallery fabric I used is a stunning mixed nutcracker inspired print set on a rich spruce background. I accented with a peppermint swirl looking fabric for the ultimate holiday Betty.

To Achieve This Look

A Holiday Craft

The recipe I have today is cookies so I thought this little freebie paired great with it! Follow the link below to learn how to wrap your holiday cookies up to look like little peppermint candies. I found tissue paper at Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree that are going to look great for this. I’m excited to bake cookies with my girls and wrap them using this fun method to hand out to the teachers at their schools.

A Holiday Treat

I wanted to find a unique candy cane/peppermint recipe for today that wasn’t the usual peppermint bark or swirl cookies. When I saw this cute candy cane cookie recipe I knew my girls would love it and they would have so much fun helping me twist them. They love mixing and twisting play doh and I think this will be really similar. The cookie itself is a cream cheese sugar cookie base and they are always so tasty and one of my favorite types of sugar cookies. Enjoy!
