25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 6 Flora

On the sixth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a non-traditional Santa Flora dress that makes me so happy!

When we purchased our home almost 10 years ago I knew I wanted to do a vintage turquoise and red themed tree. I’ve always loved this vintage color palette and it’s still my favorite tree to put up every year. So imagine my delight when looking through all the gorgeous AGF fabric and I stumbled upon this very non-traditional colored Santa fabric. The whimsical Santas are set on a pale blue background with tiny little snowflakes scattered throughout. I chose to add a PURE solid red to really make the ruffles pop and went with a fun houndstooth print for those amazing Flora pockets and princess seams.

Let’s get a closer look at those breathtaking Flora princess seams and pockets. I just love the dainty ruffle detail and the silhouette of this dress.

We had a little fun taking photos and it’s also a throwback to my first 25 days of Christmas series I did 4 years ago (check out the day 9 Chloe photos). We went back to an old barn near our home to recreate these fun whipped cream photos using a vintage Santa mug from World Market that perfectly matched the AGF Santa fabric.

This dress was so fun to make and I cannot wait to sew up more after the holiday season.

To Achieve This Look:

  • AGF fabric is Dear Santa from the Christmas in the City Collection, PURE Solid in London Red, and Houndstooth Rouge from the Checkered Elements collection.
  • Bow is from Clairebow Baby.
  • Socks are from Little Stocking Company.
  • Flora Pattern

A Holiday Craft

My kids are BIG fans of snowglobes but they inevitable drop them and they break. I found this super fun craft idea to make with my girls but I’ll be subsituting for either plastic jars or plastic globes from the craft store. The Target dollar spot near our home has had lots of little mini Christmas decor this year that will be perfect to add within their globes. Now they can shake (and drop) these little globes to their heart’s content.

A Holiday Treat

The holidays can be filled with lots of sweet treats so I thought this easy breakfast Santa would be a great way to incoporate more fruit. My girls love strawberries and bananas so I know these are going to be a big hit. They both like watching Gabby’s Dollhouse and we saw a similar recipe on a recent episode. I may tweak them a bit to look like “Santa Kitty” just to really make their morning and earn extra cool mom points.
