25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 14 Naples

On the fourteenth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a Naples dress that is so twirly!

Naples is a beautiful woven pattern that has an adorable keyhole back with button strap, puff sleeves with band, and super twirly skirt in three different lengths. Not a fan of working with woven fabric? Well, there’s a knit version, Hampton, that’s available too!

The version I made has the high-low-high dress length circle skirt with long puff sleeves and cuff. The cuffed sleeve makes this dress look so sophisticated and a great choice for a holiday dress. The keyhole back adds such a beautiful detail.

One of my favorite things about working with woven fabrics is just how much you can manipulate them. I received a super fun panel from AGF that had an adorable stocking print but it wasn’t big enough for the bodice of the Naples I wanted to make. So, I pieced the bodice together using a solid white fabric and shiny gold ricrac trim. I just love how the panel matches the skirt fabric. Plus, using the coordinating panel saved me so much time from having to hand embroider like I had originally planned.

To Achieve This Look

  • Art Gallery Fabrics used are the Holiday Spirit panel, Deck the Halls, and Star Block Merry from the Wintertale collection.
  • Socks are from Little Stocking Company.
  • Shoes are from Amazon.
  • Naples pattern

A Holiday Craft

I have a fun craft for you today that is stocking themed. Grab some pasta from the pantry and some leftover paint from your craft cabinet and let your kids get crafting. I’m not going to lie, I’m looking forward to making one of these pasta stockings too. We found some fun Christmas pasta shapes at World Market that will be super fun to use.

A Holiday Recipe

Do your kids love cake pops? Mine sure do. Any time we go to Target they ask for a cake pop from Starbucks. They don’t usually get one unless mom really needs a coffee too. But, these fun treats are actually pretty easy to make and super fun for the kids to help. I found an adorable stocking cake pop tutorial that I think my kids will absolutely freak out over. I hope your kiddos love these too.

Happy Christmas sewing,

Chauncey Williams
