25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 13 Geneva
On the thirteenth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a Cozy & Magical Geneva that is so dreamy!
Did you know the Geneva dress is actually named after my Mamaw (great-grandmother), Geneva Landreth? She was such a special lady with amazing fashion sense. I think she’s also where I get a lot of my creativity from. So, of course, the Geneva pattern holds a special place in my heart. When this pattern first came out a few years ago I photographed Chacely wearing it and holding a photo of me as a baby with my Mamaw. That red poinsettia Geneva is now tucked away in her forever box.
Besides the vintage charm of Geneva, my other favorite thing is all of the details and bows. The Geneva I made has the paneled bodice and skirt, long sleeves with bow cuffs, the optional waist bows, and a faux piping trim along the bodice panel. I also added a band along the bodice in the accent color. I chose a deep gold color to accent the main fabric and make all the details really pop.
I couldn’t find any buttons that I loved for the back. So, I used this fabric covered snap blog tutorial to add snaps to the back in the coordinating gold fabric.
I just love this pink rose fabric on the rich blue background with scattered snowflakes. Maureen Cracknell makes the most stunning prints. If you don’t follow her on Instagram, I highly recommend you do. She’s so creative and incredibly kind.
To Achieve This Look:
- Art Gallery Fabrics used are Frosted Roses Midnight from the Cozy and Magical collection by Maureen Cracknell, Petits Dots Creme, and Raw Gold PURE Solid.
- Socks are from Little Stocking Company.
- Bow is from Clairebow Baby.

A Holiday Freebie
Did you know Art Gallery Fabrics has a Lookbook collection full of free patterns and project ideas for each fabric collection they have released? There are so many fun, free projects from quilts to decor to accessories. Over the summer I made a sunglasses case that my girls thought was super fun. However, today I have a free monogram stocking pattern for you that I found in the Cozy and Magical lookbook.
A Holiday Treat
Today’s recipe is from my Mamaw’s cookbook. This cookbook was handwritten and compiled in 1995 when she was 83 years old. She gifted this to me for Christmas in 1996, just one year before she passed away. This cookbook is one of my most prized possessions. I love that I have a piece of my Mamaw here now and something my girls will have in the future. So enjoy this Christmas candy Divinity recipe that she used to make.
Happy Christmas sewing,
Chauncey Williams
