Juliette’s Capelet
Have you ever noticed how many party dresses for girls are sleeveless? Seems like virtually all of the fancy dresses are sleeveless. We present to you, Juliette’s Capelet! Juliette is a free (yes free) pattern that will give you so many options for keeping your little one warm while still being fancy! The pattern is layered so you only need to print the size you want. The sizes range from newborn to size 12 and we even included a doll size!
I made 2 capelets to pair with my gorgeous Winter Fawn dresses (thank you so much Hawthorne Threads!). Both capelets are lined with super soft and luscious white minky fabric.
I made two different looks. The solid white one uses white lawn fabric. I love the lawn because it has great movement and it is so soft. I did have to double up the fabric on this one because the lawn was a bit too thin. I trimmed it with white mini poms and added a tie from scraps of my Snowfall in Desert Rose fabric.
The other capelet I used leftover Conifer Canopy in Winter fabric from the Winter Fawn collection to coordinate with the Fawn in Winter dress. I used the same Snowfall in Desert Rose for the ties and I love how this coordinates so well with the dress! For this second look, I didn’t add any trim and look how darling it is!
