March 2021 Monthly Challenge: Watercolor Dreams
Spring is almost here and I am excited to start sewing more spring dresses! This month we are featuring some of my favorite patterns for this time of year. I hope you join our #SLPcoChallenge.
For the month of March, our challenge theme is “Watercolor Dreams”.
The Monthly Challenge
All month long we are featuring a select few patterns from our collection, which will be on sale for 30% off through the months end. If you decide to sew along with us, you can sew up one of the featured patterns and post a modeled or flat lay/mannequin photo in our fan group (or on instagram) with the hashtag #SLPcoChallenge for your chance to WIN a $20 credit!

The Patterns
Camilla
Featuring two stunning necklines, Camilla can be made with a delicate scoop or a fun sweetheart. With three skirt lengths to choose from; top, vintage, and dress, you can easily find your perfect match. If that wasn’t enough to make you fall in love, you are sure to fall head over heels for the tiered skirt and full back button placket. Want to make a statement? Try using contrasting fabric for your button placket or add some trim between the tiers! But the real pièce de résistance is the captivating scallop detail on the back bodice and the delicate criss cross straps.
Malibu
Looking for a unique and creative tunic/ dress pattern? You found it! Malibu is loaded with so many options. Choose from Tank top, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves. Choose from so many different back options including: single bow, double bow, triple bow, single twist, double twist and straight across. You can also choose from Tunic or dress lengths in either a gathered skirt, circle skirt or high low circle skirt. This pattern is great for showcasing your favorite fabrics and have a contrasting fabric on the back to really make the dress stand out.
Lana
Lana’s features the super cute tie shoulders that lets a little bit of the lining show through for a fun contrast. Choose from a swing top option, two bodice lengths: empire and dropwaist. You can choose from a circle skirt or gathered skirt option too! Perfect for Spring and Summer. This is such a fun and easy sew, perfect for that last minute dress.
Lucy
Lucy’s tunic and dress features an adorable racerback that can be made narrow or wide! It is designed to be made with woven fabrics. The curved bodice gives the gathered skirt a slight hi-low appearance. Lucy closes with buttons or snaps down the back and has two large pocket options, square or rounded. Your little lady will love being trendy in this racerback dress.
Breanna
These are a staple for any little girls wardrobe! Breanna’s are a very fast/easy sew. You can do the simple version on each length or add the peekaboo ties to give the shorts a bit more style. Breanna’s features 3 lengths (shorts, capri’s & straight leg pants). They also have a flat front – so no baggy crotch!
Sandy
Sandy’s ruffle neck tiered top and dress is just darling for all ages. Featuring a ruffle elastic neckline, it is a great summer dress pattern. Choose top or dress length. This pattern also has optional side ties to cinch in the waist and add a beautiful feminine touch. There are no closures on this dress so it is perfect for dressing up or everyday play. Want the ultimate twirl factor? Choose the tiered skirt option. This pattern is great for showcasing all your favorite prints in one dress
Triumph
The Triumph athleisure pocket shorts are the perfect shorts for everyday wear. These are designed to be sewn with stretch woven with at least 25% horizontal stretch and a knit waistband with at least 75% stretch. They can be made of all knit fabric for ultimate comfort. The waistband is contoured for a better fit. The shorts feature a mid and high rise, optional side pockets, perfect for carrying your phone, keys, cards. If you don’t want the side pockets, you can make the simple shorts version. You can accent the seam lines with coverstitching to really give them that athletic look. The side pockets are a great way to add color blocking as well. There is a shorten/ lengthen line so you can create your own custom length.
Marina
Marina features the on-trend criss-cross strap in the back. It can be sewn as a one piece or a tankini. Both versions can feature the optional top ruffle or it can be made as a simple swimsuit without the ruffle. The tankini also has an optional skirt ruffle for the ultimate girly swimsuit. A shorten/lengthen line is included for the perfect fit and coverage you may want.
