25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 1 Lydia
I know it has been a couple years, but I’m back again! I’m so excited to share with you all 25 days of Simple Life Patterns, Art Gallery fabrics, some FREE Christmas crafts, and homemade recipes! So, lets get started!
On the first day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me, the cutest little Lydia snowman dress with double circle skirt and horsehair braid.
My daughter, Chacely, is VERY into costumes and dress up right now. When I asked her what Christmas outfits she wanted me to make, she quickly responded “SNOWMAN Momma, please!” Chacely is really into comfy knit clothing so I knew I had to pick one of the many SLPco knit patterns to pair with the buttery soft AGF knit fabrics. I ended up choosing the Lydia leotard with circle skirt add-on.
For the bodice, I made the deep ruffle back option with ties. I also added the puffy Hampton sleeves for a more feminine look. To finish the bodice I found two cute rhinestone buttons from Hobby Lobby that I sewed to the front.
The skirt features a top length and dress length layered double circle skirt using AGF woven fabric. I added SO. MUCH. horeshair braid for extra flair. I have never worked with horsehair braid before and was suprised just how easy it was to add.
A huge thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics for their fabric sponsorship for my 25 days of Christmas series. If you haven’t tried their fabrics yet, you are really missing out. They are super soft, wash beautifully, and sew with such ease.
To Achieve This Look:
- AGF fabrics used are Knit Solids in Snow White and PURE Solids in Snow.
- Mini tophat and bodice buttons are from Hobby Lobby.
- Lace top socks are from Little Stocking Company.
- Black boots are from Target. Scarf is from my closet (no idea where I got it, haha).
- Lydia’s Ruffle Back Leotard Pattern
- Lydia’s Circle Skirt Add-on
A Holiday Craft
Here’s a fun and FREE Snowman keepsake craft you can make with your kiddos. I actually saw my friend post about this a few weeks ago. Her child’s teacher made them for the children in her class and handed them out to the parents as Christmas gifts. I can’t wait to make some for my girls.
A Holiday Treat
Now for a snowman treat. Fun fact about me, I love to watch baking shows while I sew. I’ve been watching Holiday Baking Championship and saw these cute little snowman donut treats. My kids LOVE donuts and helping momma “bake” so I have this planned for one of our Saturday morning breakfasts where we have plenty of time for them to help.
Happy Christmas sewing,
Chauncey Williams
