25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 10 BREEZE

On the ninth day of Christmas Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics gave to me a Breeze made from rayon that is so flowy!

Breeze is GORGEOUS! This pattern is definitely in my top 5 favorites. But, then again, I’m a sucker for all things ruffles and Breeze has options for lots of them. The Breeze I made has the optional bodice ruffles, side ties, and three tiered skirt. I used the same floral rayon for the whole dress but I think the next Breeze I make will have various prints to really showcase all those stunning options.

The most unique part of the Breeze pattern is the shirring technique used for the waist and sleeves. The shirred waist gives a beautiful silhouette to the dress. Afraid of shirring? Don’t be! There is a Youtube video (HERE) to help you out. It’s actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Go grab some elastic thread and give it a try.

If you like to sew with woven fabrics, I highly recommend using rayon if you want a really flowy outfit. You will need to take your time with the fabric because it can be a little shifty, but the end result is so worth it. I love how the rayon ruffles drape on the Breeze bodice and how billowy the fabric looks on the sleeves. The twirl factor from rayon fabric is unbelievable. Any little girl in your life is sure to love it!

To Achieve This Look

A Holiday Craft

We never know what kind of weather we will have here in the Midwest and actually just had a few days in the high 60s. This light and flowy Breeze dress was perfect for an afternoon walk to gather some supplies from our local park to make some natural ornaments to hang on my tree in the kitchen. You can find the recipe I used below to make cinnamon ornaments. They made the house smell so good!

A Holiday Treat

Before you head out to gather the natural supplies you need to make the cinnamon dough ornaments, make a batch of this yummy winter berry granola to take as a snack. This delicious recipe is great to make and hand out as gifts to all your favorite people as well.
