25 Days of Christmas – Day 18 Adelyn

Day 18 of 25 Days of Christmas with Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics has me seeing stars! Since it’s Christmas, I chose a gold metallic star print fabric and paired it with a shimmery gold solid to create an Adelyn that is full of Christmas magic.

This dress. I LOVE this dress. Mostly because I was able to make it during naptime, but I just adore how it turned out. The deep scoop back is so beautiful paired with a big gold bow. A circle skirt gives my girl lots of twirl factor. Chacely did not want to take the dress off after photos and ended up wearing it the rest of the day. There really isn’t anything better than your child wanting to wear the dress you made.

The knit fabric used for this dress is one of my  favorite prints from AGF. The metallic gold stars are so beautiful in person. The colors are so rich and the fabric is buttery soft. I urge you to try AGF woven and knit fabrics. They are a dream to sew.

To achieve this look

AGF fabric is Midnight Wishes in knit metallic.

Gold solid knit fabric is from Joann’s.

Gold bow is from Haddie Bear.

Socks are from the Little Stocking Company.

Boots are from Target.

Freebie

Today the freebie is something we make every year: Salt Dough Ornaments. I really like this White Salt Dough Ornament recipe because they turn out a pure white color and are easier to decorate with bright colors. This year we used Chacely’s handprint to make a Santa Christmas ornament for our tree.

Recipe

This Mince Pie recipe comes from one of my favorite bakers, Mary Berry. This classic British Christmas treat is so yummy and really easy to make. You can make your own mincemeat to use or you can buy a ready-made jar from Walmart. Either way this fruity Christmas pie will have you coming back for more.
