APRIL MONTHLY CHALLENGE: SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Happy April! Spring has sprung and we are SO excited for this month’s line up of great patterns. This month we are continuing our focus on transitional pieces to help get you get that Spring and Summer wardrobe ready! I can’t wait to see what you create and I hope you join our #SLPcoChallenge. 

For the month of April, our challenge theme is “Spring is in the Air”.

The Monthly Challenge

All month long we are featuring a select few patterns from our collection, which will be on sale for 30% off through the months end. If you decide to sew along with us, you can sew up one of the featured patterns and post a modeled or flat lay/mannequin photo in our fan group (or on instagram) with the hashtag #SLPcoChallenge for your chance to WIN a $20 credit!

Sew up any of the featured patterns and post a modeled or flat lay photo. You can enter as many times as you’d like, each new make = 1 entry.

We are giving away a total of THREE $20 shopping credits.

One winner will be chosen for each category:

2. Best Matches Theme
3. SLPco Team’s Choice (this can be anything based on embellishments, photography, use of pattern, eye catching, etc.)

The Patterns

NEWPORT

The Newport pattern features a fun and unique back that buttons or snaps. You can choose between top and dress lengths along with a simple skirt or a hem band skirt. Newport also features optional flap pockets, great for showcasing a fun print. Every girl will love these big pockets for storing all their treasures. The top length pairs beautifully with the Tammy Tulip shorts.

LOLA

This adorable one shoulder knit dress is perfect for spring and summer. Lola’s is loaded with options. Choose one shoulder, one shoulder with strap, bodice flounce, peplum, tunic or dress length. Circle skirt or gathered skirt lengths for all 3 sizes. This is an amazingly quick sew so if you are in a pinch for time, this pattern is for you.  

CHEYENNE

Cheyenne’s Ruffle Top & Dress is loaded with options! Choose from a t-shirt, peplum top or dress. Gathered or circle skirt options for the top/dress versions. For the sleeves, you can make a tank, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves. Around the neckline, you can add one or two ruffles, or leave the ruffles off for a simple shirt or dress.  The pattern also gives the option to add no ruffle, one ruffle, two ruffles, or a ruffle band (with or without additional ruffles) to the sleeves.  Cheyenne features layered pattern pieces, cutting charts, fabric requirement chart, size chart, and finished length chart. With the option to make this as a basic t-shirt, a peplum or tunic top, or a dress, this really is the ultimate basic for your collection.

LORELEI

This beautiful swimsuit has so many options! This swimsuit features a one shoulder look. It can be made very simple or have fun and add the vertical flutter or the pretty little cutout.  This swimsuit is perfect for all those hot summer days playing in the pool, on the beach or at the lake.

NORAH

Are you looking for that perfect spring and summer dress? We have you covered with the Norah. This pattern features “built in” cap sleeves so you dont have to even sew on sleeves but still get the shoulder coverage. This garment also has NO closures. It has enough ease built into the bodice so it can slide on and off easily. To create a little more “fitted” look, you can add thick or thin side ties. This will cinch in the waist a little and add that extra special detail. The best part about Norah is the gorgeous back options. With a deeper square back, you can add a single strap, double straps or even a criss cross strap, creating so many beautiful and unique looks. We have included a simple rectangle gathered skirt with a deep hem in top or dress length. We didnt stop there. You can also choose the gathered circle skirt in top or dress length for the ultimate twirl factor. Both skirt variations also include a peek-a-boo pocket option. This is a great way to showcase a coordinating fabric or pop of color, and we all love pockets right!

MALIBU

Looking for a unique and creative tunic/ dress pattern? You found it! Malibu is loaded with so many options. Choose from Tank top, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves. Choose from so many different back options including: single bow, double bow, triple bow, single twist, double twist and straight across. You can also choose from Tunic or dress lengths in either a gathered skirt, circle skirt or high low circle skirt. This pattern is great for showcasing your favorite fabrics and have a contrasting fabric on the back to really make the dress stand out. Pair the high low top with some Tiffany or Sarah Ann leggings for the perfect outfit.
