25 Days of Christmas – Day 14 Molly

Day 14 of 25 Days of Christmas with Simple Life Pattern Company and Art Gallery Fabrics has me saying “good golly miss Molly!”

Molly is hands down one of my favorite SLPco patterns. I have made more versions of Molly than any other pattern. I love how the collar sweeps into a low back. It just looks so elegant and timeless.

The Molly I made uses a soft snowlake print from AGF paired with a Pure Solid. I used the solid gray fabric for the collar and to add a double skirt underneath. Both skirts were cut to a vintage length and cut WOF for extra fullness. I used the sleeves from Helena and added elastic to the wrists.

Did you know that Molly comes in doll, baby, girls, and women’s sizes? I’ve yet to make a Molly for myself but it is high on my list of personal sews. Maybe I’ll make a matching Molly for my daughter and myself for Easter.

To achieve this look

AGF fabric is Snow Crystal Ash and Pure Solids Moonstone.

Ear warmer made by me! Check out the freebie section below for more information.

Tights are from Walmart.

Shoes are from Joyfolie.

Freebie

That adorable ear warmer Chacely is wearing is a new pattern from SLPco and it’s FREE! Everest is a super fast sew. Wear it tied under the chin or behind the ears like a headband. I chose to line this Everest with faux fur for extra coziness. For the ties I used left over crochet lace trim from the Jaimesyn I made a few day ago.

Recipe

I have two recipes for you today. One is really fancy and time consuming and the other is simple, but tasty!

For the fancy recipe I chose these snow globe cupcakes. Remember I mentioned I love the show The Great British Baking Show? Well the holiday episodes had a snow globe challenge and I’m determined to make some for my family. I found the needed gelatin sheets at my local bake supply shop. If you don’t have access to a baking supply shop you can get the gelatin sheets from Amazon.

The simple recipe is something I grew up making. These snowball cookies are melt in the mouth heaven. A buttery shortbread full of walnuts and coated in powdered sugar. What’s not to love? Get your kiddos involved by having them help your roll the cookies in powdered sugar. These cookies are perfect for making messy Christmas memories.
