DIY Unicorn Costume
Hi SLPco Fans!! Today is the official first day of fall which means Halloween is just around the corner. I don’t usually sew Halloween costumes for the kiddos (usually because I’m always so last minute) but this year I started early and had so much fun doing it. Today I am so excited to be sharing this fun DIY Unicorn Costume with you that I have created for BERNINA!! 
I wanted this to be something that could be worn for more than just Halloween. I also hate putting so much time and money into something and it only gets worn once. So I decided to make everything detachable so the dress can be worn separately and the wings can be played with long after Halloween is over. I love the high-low skirt and ruffle of the Harmony Dress. It’s so cute and chic and perfect for a Unicorn costume. I found this fun shiny rainbow fabric in the costume section at my local Joann store that I knew would be perfect for the dress. I made the dress per the Harmony instructions with no modifications.
To give the costume a little extra flair I add a skirt overlay but wanted it to be removable. To achieve this look I cut the Harmony pattern 1″ below the lining cut line and used the bottom half of the pattern as the skirt. Next, I grabbed the Maggie pattern for the waistband. I cut the low rise waistband and made it per the Maggie instructions. Then attached the waistband to the skirt.
